Akris

Today’s outfit was inspired by Akris‘ Pre-Fall 2012 collection.  The mixture of browns were captivating.  It’s cool to see how one, neutral color and still have a dramatic feel.  For my California, end-of-summer style, I chose to try out this light to dark trend.  I chose a simple, white tank top to pair with my dual length skirt.  I wanted to keep a soft, feminine look with a brown belt and cream wedges.  For jewelry, I added in a chocolate, chain link necklace with my new gold, cross necklace.  The heavy chain mixed with the tiny chain gives my look a little edge.  Lastly, some gold bangles and a ring were enough to complete my look.  When mixing similar shades together, try to progressively take your look from light on top to dark on bottom.  This will highlight your face and slim out the lower portion of your body.  Happy NYFW and Fashion’s Night Out everyone!
