Through the woods

Today, I was inspired to make a Thanksgiving outfit wish-list.  The song “over the river and through the woods, to grandmother’s house we go” came to mind, not totally sure why.  During the holiday season, whether I’m headed to grandma’s house or out with some friends, a warm and festive look is always on my mind.  I want an outfit that I can shed some layers (aka a coat) and have a fun, cute dress on under.  The color combination between this cape and dress were perfect.  Both of these pieces are versatile in color and cut.  I picked a chunky heeled, ankle boot as it dressed down the look.  For fun styling, mix in black and brown accessories (this clutch even works with jeans).  Typically I’m not as dressed up at Thanksgiving as I am for the December holidays.  For great holiday styling, I suggest to pair cool, jewel-toned colors with neutrals (think cranberry, plum, navy, emerald, etc).  This look is simple and polished (I’m in love).
